Lewis Smith who aspires to a be a mecha suit piloting hero from the American Marines and Ao Isami of the Japanese SDF are participating in a joint military exercise using Titanostriders (TS) mechanical suits deployed around the world in a test run. Suddenly the world finds themselves under attack by entities known as "Deathdrives" from space. As they get overwhelmed, another mystery mechanical sentient being "Bravern" appears before Ao allowing him to take control and fight back. Now with the help of Bravern, humans plan a strategy to fight back.

Watched this because of the hype. It's a good first episode. Very cliche aliens invading Earth but the action was good. It's like a parody show of those transforming special effects shows. Ao even complains about the theme song playing as he fights.

You could think of the show like having a single goofy Transformer who's just very gay. There's a lot of gay male innuendo going on as Bravern is completely obsessed with Ao. Bromance I guess you could say. Then you have an alien in the form of a cute little "ga-ga-pi" girl (sounds like Pokemon Togepi...) Lewis ends up having to take custody of.

Really has something for everyone but the novelty joking about those cliche moments eventualy wears off so I'm not quite sure I'd be watching more of this.
