Traffic and Host Bandwidth Usage for March
Well, it's been a month since I purchased my own domain, hosting space and moved my blog. Only half the hits I usually get have managed to get transferred over here so far and I'm still finding people commenting on the old Wordpress account one.
I'm tempted to delete it altogether but, there are images hosted on their servers and I have no idea how to download them all quickly instead of doing it manually one by one. They don't give you FTP access unfortunately but can't complain when the service is free. If I did know a quick way to get those files though, I would probably delete it. Then again, I might give up the private hosting I'm using now if the traffic doesn't pick up over the year.
I chose the medium Home hosting package with Daily.co.uk since I wasn't sure if the Lite's 5GB/month bandwidth would suffice but for March, my site's only managed to use up half of that coming in at around 2.5GB of bandwidth so maybe I should have went with it. However, it may increase now that I've started to host images on my own space.
Didn't notice Daily charge extra for an SQL database (required to use Wordpress) until after I had paid so that was some extra expenditure. I might consider a different host the next time.
On the other hand, their customer service has been very good. It was the first time I was setting up my own domain and hosting so I came across a few hurdles but thanks to their quick responses and help, I managed to get Wordpress deployed.
While on the search for a good hosting company, I looked up many review sites and there were a surprisingly few number of good rated companies listed. Daily was one of the hosts that had a bad rating but because every other host were just about the same, I decided to try going with them anyway and I really don't see what's so bad about them so far.
Now time to keep the blog going. A lot of people are searching for pictures of Cissnei from FFVII Crisis Core it seems...
