Been a while since I played PC games but after the upgrade, I just had to try out a few and see what I've been missing. My old setup could run Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 but only with the minimal graphics. Cranking them up to "ultra" with my new Geforce 9800 GT doesn't seem to change much except the water looks nicer.

I had no problems with the dreaded DRM but somehow, the gameplay just wasn't as exciting as the original or maybe even its predecessor. I liked playing the Soviets in the original because of the Tesla Coils and flame throwing units. It was also great to watch the FMVs featuring real people acting out scenes. Now that EA's taken over the developing, we see super powers for each faction and a whole lot of fan service in the FMVs. I think the super powers just ruin the excitement because even though they do have a timer, the destruction happens too quickly in one single blast.

Still, that's not to say it's not satisfying to crush the enemy after the use of some good strategy. Now I wonder who's going to play as Yuriko in the FMVs for the expansion pack...
