It's the summer holidays. As usual, Suneo is showing off his latest acquisitions a bunch of paintings this time. With Doraemon's "Immersive Torch" gadget the gang can enter the world of any of the paintings. While inspired to dabble in art himself a mysterious wooden painting drops into the Nobi Residence's living room. Curious what the painting was about, they decide to use the torch and inside they meet a mysterious little girl with iridescence eyes who ends up accidentally escaping into Nobita's world.

After Nobita's friends catch her during her little adventure, they learn she was 6 year old Claire from the Atelier Kingdom which was portrayed in a recently discovered 13th century painting. It had a mysterious blue colour that couldn't be reproduced by modern day techniques. Using the torch, they manage to return Claire to her kingdom and discover it's been 4 years since her disappearance. Just when they thought Claire could happily reunite with her family, Nobita and his friends find themselves caught up in some strange going ons that locals think must be linked to the legendary demon, Isere.

A fun comical start. It's full of comedy and plenty of familiar gadgets. It's not that dark compared to previous movies that's for sure with twists to keep the viewer guessing what's going on.

Ending credits wasn't as much fun since it's mostly a recap of key scenes instead of an epilogue. Judging from the credits, the producers took inspiration from Italy for the European aesthetics. Still, a fun Doraemon movie overall.
