As the class practices to perform at the upcoming event for their parents, Nobita is having trouble playing his recorder correctly. As usual he bluffs that he'd be able to do it perfectly with a little more practice. When it doesn't go so well he uses one of Doraemon's gadgets to make music disappear for a day, not realising how much chaos it would cause.
After the world was reverted, they meet a mysterious girl named Mikka while practicising together and find themselves whisked off to a spaceship. Mikka and her people need the help of virtuosoes, talented artists, to restore power to their ship using the power of music (AKA "fare" in this case, supposedly from "fanfare") so that they can return home. Meanwhile, another dark entity stealthily invades the ship and Earth.
An original new story. It's pretty magical with the odd bit of comedy and dark scenes. Direction's kind of like a game where they keep unlocking areas too so that wasn't too exciting. I think it tries too much to be a musical at times so it's not one of the better movies I've seen but, the myriad of colours and music themed designs definitely brightens up the story.
Looking forward to what they do with the Doraemon 2025 movie, a remake of the 1994 "Visionary Swordsmen"... Or so I thought when it teased with a wizard hat and castle. Turns out it's an original, "World of Paintings."
