Super Smash Brothers Brawl Sold Out on First Day

無中文版

The long anticipated online enabled beat-em-up game "Super Smash Brothers Brawl" finally reached retailers in Japan on Thursday, selling out at over 500,000 copies on its first day compared to Mario Galaxy's 130,000 copies.

Meanwhile, the scene forums are fired up with excitement too because a working stripped down version of the game has been dumped onto the internet. Seems Nintendo hasn't come up with any new protections yet against consoles with chips. Just the familiar duplicate channels.

However, players who own legitimate copies of the game appear to be having problems after updating their Wii with the included mini update. Booting their game for the first time causes the Wii to freeze up and movie playback is choppy but fortunately, rebooting the Wii by simply shutting it down with the power button corrects the first problem. Or if problems persist, go get your drive's lens cleaned out...

Having not played the previous games, I don't really know why everyone's been so excited about it but, I'm presuming it's the idea of having all your favourite Nintendo characters competing together in the same game and smooth controls. Not sure if I'll be picking it up yet because it'll depend on what else is coming out during that month. If I do, it means I'll be picking up another nun-chuk controller early since I only have one. Wasn't going to get another until TCNB came out.

Speaking of sell outs, Nintendo's other title "Endless Ocean" is still fairly much sold out here too just now and has been for the past couple of weeks. Ebay prices are floating around the lower £20 mark while the really lucky ones are getting a full £30 for it instead the original £18. SMG never sold out but, I wonder if this SSBB will?
