First Screens and Trailer for Capcom's "Resident Evil Degeneration" CG Movie

申し訳ありませんが、この記事は和訳がございません。

Screens have emerged for Capcom's "Resident Evil: Degeneration" movie that was announced about 2 months ago. A few are actually blurred so not all of them are exactly great screenshots but the ones that aren't, are looking good.

I'm not really into the RE series of games so I really don't know anything about the storyline but, I do enjoy CG movies such as Pixar's works and that's why I have my eyes on this movie.

Judging by these screenshots and the timeline I found, it appears the story is going to take place 7 years after the Raccoon City incident in 1998 and feature Leon and Claire.

And here's the trailer those screens came from. If you can't view the video (because of Sony's copyright on Youtube) then visit the Daily Motion website.

No news of a release date yet but I'm sure we'll be hearing more soon.

That's what I thought too. Real actors, props and locations just doesn't quite compare with the perfection of CGI. And the live action movies have all done a bad job of directing and telling the stories so far anyway. I believe only the original developers can do the game to movie process any justice just as Advent Children proved. All the FFVII fans were very satisfied and I think this RE movie should achieve the same result.

In my opinion this is the only way that Videogame-Movie tie-ins work, using CG instead of real actors.
Like you, despite having played almost every RE game in existence, I don't consider myself a fan of the series (more of a Silent Hill kind of guy), but I think Capcom has some of the best teams/studios making CG movies in the game industry. (Wasn't Robot the name of the company that did the CG sequences for Onimusha 3? Don't know if they are a subsidiary (like Clover Studios) or just a whole different company)
