Seiken Densetsu: Heroes of Mana, Story and Gameplay Details

Long long ago there was a tale that was much older than the birth of the Mana Goddess itself. It tells of one witch who brought Darkness upon the world in a distant dimension. Her name was Anith.

Anith was later defeated by the Guardians of the Tree but her spell of Darkness managed to travel through to many other dimensions, descending upon the worlds.

Following on, another legend is told...

When the world was once engulfed in Darkness, the Mana Goddess managed to defeat the Sacred Beast who was born to lead the world to its doom. With the aid of the Mana Sword, she sealed them in 8 keystones. Thus, it was so that Darkness was banished and the world was created anew. Afterwards, the Mana Goddess changed into a great ancient tree and settling herself in a sacred place that no one knows of, she continues to watch over the world together with the Mana Sword.

Now many years later the world has settled down in peace but, the terrifying shadow of Darkness descends.

In the old town of "Pedan" in the southern seas... Darkness was ready to tear its cold claws through the peaceful slumber of the world.

As mentioned in my previous post, Heroes of Mana is an RTS game where you summon and command monsters. To do that you have to collect various materials circled in the first box of the scan using Rabis, low attack type monsters that are free to summon. Material spots are split into two types: finite and infinite sources. Once you have your materials, you can move onto the second step, building a summoning facilities on your airship. Each facility can only summon one monster at a time and you can't summon another until the monster has left your ship.

Once you have your team formed, it's time to move out and attack the enemy but they haven't been idle either. Enemies are hidden from sight at first ready to ambush so you must sent monsters in to scout out areas first before you can attack them. If you happen to send a monster into where the enemy awaits then, your monster will probably be done for. I guess it's like an invisible fog of war.

Finally, once you find the enemy you can start giving out commands to your units and they will carry them out automatically!

Currently the game is 35% complete.
