Bokura no Taiyou DS
??????DS (working title) or Lunar Knights, builds on the success of the first three GBA games which, encouraged players to play in the sunlight by charging their in-game weapons with a solar sensor built into the cartridge. We once again follow the adventures of Jango in Boktai in vampire hunting.
The problem with charging via real sunlight is that in countries such as Scotland where there isn't much sun, you can find yourself hardly playing at all. So this time, Boktai DS will feature a simulated sun and weather which is displayed via the top screen. There will be time cycles which will be morning to day, evening and night.
There will be 5 different changing weather climates which are warm damp, desert dry, tropical rain, freezing cold and snow.
These will produce the following in-game effects:
High humidity makes plants grow letting you climb up to higher areas. |
Strong winds allow you to use a glider to cross large gaps. |
High temperatures make water evapourate revealing new areas such as stairs. |
Heavy rain causes the water to rise making objects float up to allow you to access new areas. |
Jango will have two basic weapons, the Night (left) and Dragonar (right). As the guns level up, charged shots can be used with the Night and the range will increase with the flame throwing Dragonar. The Night is a memento of Jango's father, the Great Vampire Hunter.

The game is scheduled sometime this year and currently, the official site is up but there's not much on it. An update is planned for the site on August 15th.

This new game has some interesting new weather elements but, a 3D version might have looked good too.

But you mention 'the first two GBA games which, encouraged players to play in the sunlight'.
Does this mean the third gba game didn't? I never really played it, I was too bored of the first two games.
