Well, it's almost free! You still have to pay for the shipping fee which will be 630 Yen (US$5) for native Japanese players. Overseas fans will just have to make use of Falcom's e-mail service for pricing info. You'll have to send them your game serial number too which can be found on the white card.

This expansion CD features:
• Two new difficulty levels "Very Easy" and "Nightmare".
• Monster and character compendium.
• Arena Mode and a bonus shop. Activate by beating the game with Yunica, Yugo and Claw.
• "Ver. Extra" characters have improved abilities.
• Adol now playable. Can use "Ys: Felghana's Oath" or "Ys VI: Ark of Napishtim" version. Not available for scenario mode unfortunately.
• Beat the last stage in the new Arena Mode and unlock costumes.

Or for those of you who have yet to buy this game, you can wait for the Windows Vista version on March 29th which will include all the features mentioned above.
