Pokemon Blue and Red first released for the Game Boy in 1996 February sold over a record of 110 million copies worldwide. Now Pokemon DP has some success of its own selling over 5 million after about two months of being released.

It remains strong in the top 10 Japanese game charts so perhaps it'll catch up with it's Wi-Fi support and Wii link feature for the upcoming Pokemon Battle Revolution.

Those of you wondering about the English versions, Nintendo has confirmed an English (American version of course) will be released on April 22nd in the new year. Meanwhile you can wait or try using my guide if you're only interested in playing through the story ;)
