Following closely in the footsteps of Nippon Ichi’s survival title, Firefly’s Diary – you wouldn’t think it’s scary at all looking at the cute graphics. However, unlike games where you have a whole arsenal of weapons to deal with demons and monsters, in Yowamari [A Walk in the Night] AKA Night Alone in the West, you only have a torch.
So our innocent little heroine is out walking her dog Boro but suddenly – BOOM! Her dog is run over. Nippon Ichi doesn’t hold back any punches… She returns home dragging an empty dog leash and when her big sister sees Boro missing, she decides to go out to look for it. Late in the night, she never returns and worried for her sister’s safety, our heroine braves the demon filled night in search of her sister.
Not a happy story so far that’s for sure. Continue reading
Tokyo Xanadu is your usual JRPG high school setting with students having special powers. Red tears appear around the world as demons known as Greed are trying to invade the human world.
Yet, another spin-off Persona 4 game from Atlus, exploring genres they’ve never been in before. Well, not really… Arena was developed by Arc System Works well known for their popular Guilty Gear fighter games and now DAN was developed by Sega who already has experience in rhythm games such as their recent Hatsune Miku series.
Anyway, taking part after Persona 4, the gang takes part in a programme called, “Kizuna Festival” and rumours have it that if you watch a video on the internet at midnight, you’ll find out the next idol that will disappear.
Anyone into the old D&D style dungeon crawlers where you make 90 degrees turns should like this – If you don’t mind the cutesy “moe” Anime graphics.
In Demon Gaze, Flan runs a manor for adventurers which acts as your base for resting up, arranging party members, purchasing items and getting new quests.
Your main goal as “Demon Gazer” Oz, is to hunt down troublesome demons in various parts of the world and seal off the great evil that is about to awaken. To do this, you find portals and close them by defeating the demons. The demon you’re after may or may not be inside so by closing enough of them, you corner the demon and then use your Demon Gaze power to subdue them to become your partner.
It seems the trophies for Persona 4 Golden/Vita has been leaked. Don’t read on in case you’re worried about spoilers!
If you don’t know what trophies are, they’re basically “side quests” for games on the Playstation 3 and Vita that you can fulfill to get a nice icon on your online PSN profile… Sounds pretty pointless but, I think they help extend a game’s lifespan because the next time you decide to pick up the game again, you’ll have more goals to go for. It also shows how much you enjoyed a game and let fellow gamers know.
They’re also very handy for finding out what a game has in-store since each trophy comes with a description. So according to this, you’ll be saving Marie the new character… I keep thinking Marie from the Evangelion 2.0 movie ^^;
