Day Persona 5 officially gets released in West! A book has also appeared on Amazon US called “The Art of Persona 5” by Prima Games which might be a localised version of this book so you might want to hold out until June 27th. However, it’s thinner at only 432 pages so we’ll have to wait and see…
Prima Games version of the artbook delayed until September 26th.
Persona 5 Official Design Works is one big heavy artbook… Probably the biggest I’ve seen at 512 A4 pages, 1.6kg. It reminds me of the the free telephone directories that are distributed to homes in the UK but, the paper and print quality’s much better of course. Shows how much thought went into the game and why it’s oozing with quality, enough to play through a second time to platinum it.
Can’t get enough of the FFXIII story? Well, “Final Fantasy XIII Episode Zero – Promise“, a set of novellas that take place before the events of the main game, has been freely available for reading online for some time now.
Only chapter one of the story “Encounter” came on a bonus drama CD with the 5 disc, First Press Limited Edition of the Japanese OST. Now, all chapters will be voiced and recorded into a single drama CD due for release on September 15th with big name Seiyuus such as Maaya Sakamoto involved.
One bonus story not available on the website will also be included and the first press edition will come with a slip case cover.
Wonder if Toriyama and Watanabe will eventually release a hardback novel like Nojima did with FFVII: On the Way to a Smile?
Now this is the format Makoto Shinkai’s “Sora no Kioku” artbook should be in but I guess he had no say in its layout.
In commemoration of Capcom’s Monster Hunter series’ 5th anniversary, a 310 page “Monster Hunter CG Artworks” book containing over 1700 pieces of CG from every title in the series so far, went on sale yesterday. This includes staff interviews, box arts and the adverts that’s been used in magazines so far with each piece of CG work having its own A4 sized page. A small preview is available at Akiba Blog (NSFW).
I’m sure some of the trading card art will be in it.
Devil Survivor fans will soon be able to buy themed black and white mugs from March onwards or go for a customisable glass tumbler in April. There’s nothing much to say about the mugs but, the glass holds 320ml of liquid and has a rubber bottom to prevent it from sliding off slippy surfaces. It can also handle temperatures between 90 ~ -30C but isn’t microwavable.
Have to get this glass. I’m sure the guys won’t mind me sitting with them with a big pink glass in the campus cafeteria…
Wouldn’t mind wearing this instead of my current scarf but unfortunately, it appears to be unavailable for order currently. I think only people who have played Persona 4 will recognise the pattern while everyone else will just see it as a bright flashy scarf in the streets.
The white Jack Frost Mug B and drinking glass set look pretty cool too. Might have to bug my Japanese contact to help forward the goods over once they’re back in stock since they’re exclusive goods for the Atlus D Shop. Not sure if I would get the 925 silver “Fool” pendant though considering the price. Or maybe go for the “High Priestess” one instead!
