Persona 3 Portable Vol. 1 Drama CD in August ::

So, how have those of you in NA being enjoying the localised version of Persona 3 Portable? I think they did a good job with the original game so I presume they've done the same with the portable version.

Anyway, just wanted to let you Persona fans know the first P3P Drama CD is due out in August 28th this month, featuring all the new characters from the latest version of P3 and is available at the usual place.

It is summer and the female members of the S.E.E.S. are out in their Yukatas to go to the summer festival at Nagashima Shrine. Full of excitement for the event, there's enough girls talk to make flowers bloom. On the other hand, the guys aren't interested at all but when they take Koromaru out for a walk during the night, they come across the girls.

And while we're on the subject of Persona, you might want to take a look at Shigenori Soejima's recently released 152 page, A4-sized artbook over at Kita-san's blog. He was responsible for the character designs for the recent Persona games (i.e. P3 and P4). The book contains all his illustrations including those from older works between 2004-2010 such as Stella Deus.

The artbook is available from Play-Asia and judging by the contents page there should be the following...

  • Atlus Game Art - 4 pages
  • Persona 3 - 30 pages
  • Persona 3 FES - 12 pages
  • Persona 4 - 32 pages
  • Stella Deus - 18 pages
  • Other Works - 17 pages

Very nice Aegis illustration on the cover and I'm wondering if Theodore has a date or something?

Why not take a break?

I bought that book a few days ago. Its currently on transit. Probably will have it by tuesday.

What I want to know, though, is what name they are giving the female protagonist on that Drama CD. I've been heard any of the previous Drama CD's, so I don't know if they avoided giving the name 'Minato' or 'Souji' on them.

Oh man. I need that artbook now. I don't trust play-asia anymore though, not after my copy of the P3 design works book never arrived ;_;

Really? I never had problems with them.

YesAsia has it too but I've had bad experiences with them... Then there's always the more expensive direct from Japan option like HMV.

Wow, thanks for the links ^_^ I actually just ordered it from Amazon Japan a couple days ago, but HMV looks pretty sweet, might try them next time as their English language support seems a bit better than amazon.jp's...

I own the North American release of Persona 3 Portable, and I was also able to get the Junpei hat that goes with the pre-order. Fits very nice :3

I thought the game was well translated and that the additional dialogue that are added here and there to help deal with the fact that it's all dialogue were nice touches. I think that one of the best things that come with the visual-novel style is that there are more character portraits for the main ones and the side characters.

Still, I kind of wished that they left the animated cutscenes alone. And I sometimes miss the body language from the game sprites.

Yup, the cutscenes would have been nice. At least the original OP's still there I guess...
