Belkin Pays for Positive Reviews on Amazon

According to PC Pro, Belkin has admitted paying people US$0.65 to write positive five star reviews about their products on Amazon. It makes one wonder about their quality if the company has to pay for reviews and, why would anyone want to write something for that little pay anyway? If the price was per word then maybe...

Fortunately I don't really depend on those reviews and only use them as a second opinion because sometimes they highlight things that the professional reviewers don't such as a product's longevity.

Some are false reviews here.

Well, Belkin's official stance is that the employee who did it went against policy. Who knows.

I did purchase a Belkin surge protector off of Amazon a few months back. I haven't had any problems so far, but I still feel like checking the reviews again. Hmm...
