Persona 4 Heading to The US This Winter

Yes, the US release date of Persona 4 has been revealed at the Anime Expo 2008 and it looks like those over that end of the world won't have to wait a whole year before getting their hands on the JRPG like with Persona 3.

Persona 4 is due for December 9th 2008 and as expected, will be coming in a special edition once again just like Persona 3 did. Well, sort of... Only this time, it will just come with a mini soundtrack without a mini artbook. It will be priced at US$39.99 which is quite a bit cheaper than the Japanese version due out this week which is priced at 7329 Yen (US$69).

And here's the official video used for the announcement. Looks like they're trying to tune the TV and slipped in some footage from older MegaTen games at the beginning.

Hmmm, saw pictures of it posted at the CheapAssGamer forum. Not bad.

Maybe P4 will get the PS2 GoY award since P3FES can be considered an expansion pack.

Sorry for double post... but since we just got P3:FES earlier this year... and we're getting P4 in the US later on...

Would that mean both FES and P4 are good contenders for PS2 RPG of the Year awards? Provided that P4's as good as we think it is...

I heard that they gave a nice yellow T-Shirt over at the AX Panel during the panel... with a silhouette of Izanagi on front and a silhouette of the first four characters at the back. I wanted that..

Well, they're tuning the TV so instead of using "screens" from other media, why not use this opportunity to promote other games in the series? Good marketing.

That picture is a "Library Card", one of the pre-order gifts listed in the official site's shopping guide. They're basically gift cards that can be used in book shops. Most of the shops are giving out similar cards. Check out the guide for a full list of P4 illustrated cards.
