Makoto Shinkai's Artbook Makes Amazon Top 10 Japanese Books

Makoto Shinkai's first artbook, which contains over 400 backgrounds from his movies, appears to be selling well. Daike-san tells me that it's sold out in a good number of shops in Akiba and it's even managed to make Amazon's Top 10 list of Japanese books.

Can't wait to get a hold of it myself!

Just order off HMV Japan if you can't find it. It's back in stock and the site's available in English.

Just remember the more expensive postage and currency conversion fees.

There's a few photos on monta@site. It's a pity it's not one background per page but, still looks good. Just the cover alone seem to look so much better in a photo.

This buyer got a nice surprise after whipping off the outer blue cover, LOL.

No problem I would have missed this too if I didn't browse so many blogs =D stumbled on this one after I read about the artbook from another blog ^_^

If anyone already has them would love it if they could post some pictures of it.

Too bad its Golden Week over in Japan so my order probably won't ship for a while orz

I'm afraid they're the only places I know that will send the book outside of Japan just now.

I'm trying to bug someone over in Japan to get me it so I don't have to pay the high handling and delivery charge but, looks like it's sold out. Apparently it'll be another week until the next batch >_>

Good to hear you got the DVD. So did you get it off PA and risk customs? I know another guy got shots of the stadium lights where Takaki was training for football in Oukashou. As you say, it's still good to have a hard copy of the film and the artwork.

I think i'm going to be ordering this pretty soon! I really want a first print for some reason. I wouldn't be able to tell anyway hahah.

But my 5CM LE DVD and single arrived today.
I got a pretty unimpressive film strip~ 4 pictures of the arrrows in the target at the start of Cosmonaut. I'm satisfied though. Just happy to be owning a hard copy of the film.
