Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren DS, A Classic Dungeon Crawler Returns

More scans from this week's Chinese version of Famitsu. This time we have the classic RPG "????????? ?????? DS", a remake of the popular SNES dungeon crawler which was released over 10 years ago. Thanks to its randomly generated levels, you can play the game 1000 times and not end up with the same dungeon!

From the scan you can see how the original version compares with the new dual screen mode and explains how you have to use the stylus to control your character this time. Other changes include 4 newly added dungeon areas, one of them being used as a tutorial. Also, you can now return to previous dungeons if you find enemies too tough during story mode whereas in the original, it was a one way ticket. Monsters up to level 4 can now appear instead of only up to level 3.

Second page shows more of the newly added tutorial dungeon and some of the helper NPCs who sells weapons to you or, help you solve riddles. Although new elements have been added to this DS remake, the basic gameplay remains the same. Every action you make is very important in the game because the enemy will respond accordingly to your every move and if you wander in the dungeons for too long, you will grow hungry and pass out.

As for Wi-Fi support, those of you who have played the Gameboy Colour version of the game will know about a "Fuurai Rescue Team" whenever you need help in a dungeon. This time however, you can ask for help via Wi-Fi!

The remake from Sega is set for release on December 14th.
