At the back, it claims the game will support up to 16 players. Although not much has been revealed about the Mognet mail system, I'm guessing it will allow players to trade items and also take part in a turn-based "mini game". Maybe even betting on Chocobo races. Otherwise, I don't think there's much point to just sending messages...

Besides, the official JP site hints that something happens when you exchange a certain number of messages. I guess we'll have to wait and see ?????
